Secondary schools are not free in Africa. Girls who do attend school are frequently sent home due to unpaid fees and cannot achieve the results they’re capable of. This has given Sub-Saharan Africa the distinction of having the highest dropout rate of girls in secondary school in the world. The opportunity for education will break the cycle of poverty.
